LeRoy,
That's my bike. It's not top secret at all. It's just on the back burner for now. I think Jeff mentioned to you about the problem I was having with the rear tire/wheel combination (I used different brands than Jeff used) Once that happened I lost my steam. I had to walk away from the project for a while..... an now that "while" has turned into a year. (or more) If I could get the tire onto the wheel AND BEADED.... I could probably drive it within just a few days of work. It wouldn't be totally "finished" but it would be drivable. I have ALL the parts necessary to make it drive. There is a small difference between the pump Jeff is using and the pump we plan to use on my bike. (which Jeff got for me. Thanks again Jeff. ) It will be completely automatic!! No human input will be required...... EXCEPT for engine throttle. The pump will stroke and de-stroke automatically via sensing engine RPM and load. I don't completely understand how it works. We are NOT 100% sure if it's going to work like it was designed to but if it does..... it should be pretty cool! In fact, while watching the DVD, when Ernie is talking about the pump and the shot breaks away to a picture of a pump mounted to the back of an engine..... thats the pump and engine for my bike. Maybe this winter I'll get my a$$ into gear and finish it. Brian. |

THAT SOUNDS SWEET.............LET ME THINK ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE AND SEE IF I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW YOU TWO CAME UP WITH THE PLUMBING THATS GOING TO DO THAT.........SOUNDS LIKE A CHALLENGE..........THAT WOULD BE SUPER COOL..............JUST ROLL THE THOTTLE AND AWAY YOU GO..................TOTALLY TRICK!!! THERE'S GOT TO BE SOME ELECTRONICS INVOLVED?

No electronics..... and all the plumbing for the speed control is completely internal within the pump. Normally there would be an electronic directional valve mounted onto the pump that would give the vehicle reverse but mine will just be plumbed for forward only. In theory it should work great but we're still waiting to see if it actually works like we think it should.
We'll know when I ride it for the first time. ![]() |

![]() Is there any specific part of the motorcycle that you would like to see a better picture of? I could post more of the pictures that I took back when I was working on it....... pictures that never made it onto the main web site. ![]() |

I know..... I need to get off my but and get back at it again. Once the snow hits the ground here I'll feel like working on it again.... hopefully.
I would love to go to Sturgis one of these years but it falls on the week before the the NHRA National event drag race in Brainerd, MN. I cant miss that race, it's been a tradition for a long time. I travel the entire country attending these races so I can't miss a race at my home track, it just wouldn't be right. Jeff has tried to get me to go with him to Sturgis for the last several years with no success. I don't know... maybe I'm being too bull headed about this. Once I get the bike finished maybe I'll actually have a reason to go to Sturgis. We'll see..... Aluminum, hmmm. Until now I haven't given any thought to using aluminum because I cant weld it. Now that you have mentioned it maybe I should think of a place to use aluminum on this project. Let me think about this for a bit. ![]() Thanks for the offer. Brian. |
