UPDATE:
Well, For the last month or two Leroy has been poking at me to get back to work on my bike. (he sends me PM's) I was in the garage last night pulling my bike parts out of the corner and thinking about what my next step is going to be. I already have almost every part I'll need to finish it and I could probably have the bike running/driving in a relatively short amount of time. All the major fabricating is pretty much done with only small things left to make like foot pegs, battery box and handlebars for example. I used a different wheel and tire combo than Jeff used on his bike. I've been having one HELL of a time trying to get the tire to bead-up on the rim. The tire and rim dimensions match perfectly but for some reason these tires with an extremely short sidewall are a real B***H to mount. In fact, The tire I have has a LARGE hole in it now from the last tire guy who tried to mount it and put 170psi (trying to get it to bead-up) in a thin motorcycle tire then scratched his head when it blew!! My tire problem is one of the reasons why I had to walk away from this project for a while. I was pretty burnt out on the whole thing..... That was over a year ago. After watching Leroy's project go from a bare frame to an almost complete bike within the last few months I'm really starting to get interested in my project again!! ![]() I'll let you know when something happens...... Brian. ![]() |

I think Brian's bike is still just a little bit closer to being finished.
![]() I bet it would only take 10 minutes to get back on track on that again. Chop chop. Lets get you a new tire! Jeff

This weekend I plan to get started on it again. I'm going to send my new tire down to Leroy's tire guy. He has the patience to get it mounted.

Well, Todd was over tonight and after hearing Leroy's engine running in a few of his videos we decided it was time to hear my engine run again. (I removed the hydrostatic pump from the engine) We had a little bit of trouble getting it started...... then Todd realized there was still a piece of tape sealing off the intake side of the turbo so it was starving for air. Oops!
Anyway...... it runs great! I was going to take a short video but didn't have a video camera available.Todd and I put a game plan together and I think we might get started back to work on the fabrication tomorrow night...... hopefully! ![]() Brian. ![]() |
