No fabrication progress yet but I did buy a few more things today.

1) I ordered a new rear fender from eBay. The fender that I had for the bike was pure crap!

2) I ordered the gas tank / oil tank sealer.... it's called "Red Kote". Anybody have any experience with this stuff???

3) I went to the welding supply store and picked up the supplies that I needed to finish my gas tank.

4) I ordered a new front axle from Dennis Kirk. I've had the wheel and tire but I still needed an axle. Hopefully I ordered the right one?

The front wheel, tire and axle shown in a few of the pictures on our main site does not belong to me. That wheel belongs to a friend who had his bike taken apart at the time so I borrowed it from him to help mock-up my bike. Here is a picture of the front wheel I'm using. It's a 21 inch Harley Thunderstar. It's not a perfect match to the rear wheel but at least it's a chrome 5 spoke. (like the rear is) It's the best I could do to match a car wheel to a motorcycle wheel. Oh well... close enough!

Front wheel...

A picture of the rear wheel for comparison...

Sorry for the small pictures, I'll get better ones later.

My plan is to work on it all weekend starting Friday night. I know I said this last weekend but I really mean it this time!

Don't you watch MTV? According to them, the word "BLING" died in 2002 (roughly) when old people started using it.

Don't get me wrong.... I don't watch it either but they did write a commercial about how the word "BLING" died that I saw while flipping channels one time.

Moderator??? I don't see anything about you being a moderator. It says "Super Duper Site Admin on my computer!

Well, I got started back on the fabrication again tonight. I made the 4 mounts that will get welded into the gas tank which will give me a way to mount my tank. I need to get a piece of steel tomorrow and I should be able to finish welding the mounts into the tank and get it bolted to the frame. Once that is done I will make a simple battery box. Depending how far I get, I might try to get the handle bars and foot pegs made too. Jeff, I may need to use the tubing bender tomorrow or Sunday.

My front axle showed up yesterday. I ordered the axle from Dennis Kirk at 7:45pm on Wednesday night. I had the axle in my hands by noon the next day. I guess It pays to order from a parts supplier that is only an hour away from me.

I just got the tracking number for the rear fender I bought from eBay at 5:00pm tonight (Friday) and I ordered it on Tuesday. It took four days before they even sent my order info to UPS. Just Because they have a tracking number doesn't mean they actually have it on the truck yet. And.... I don't know anything about the tire yet..... The last time I ordered a tire from this place (I think they're in Utah) it took 2 weeks to get it!

No pictures yet but I'll try to get some tomorrow. My welds don't look like Leroy's welds so don't set your hopes too high. I had a brand new Miller Syncrowave TIG welder here at my house for about 6 months and didn't have the patience to get better at using it.

I'll have another update tomorrow.

Brian.

I just walked in the door from the garage. I started at 1pm so I guess I only have about 8 hours in today... You got me beat.

Give me a little while and I'll have the pictures uploaded. Check back later tonight.
