Raccoon Manifold features and benefits.

This manifold was designed specifically for small off road hydrostatic drive, 2 wheel drive motorcycles. It is sized for 15 gallons per minute or less and up to 3000 PSI continuously. (6000 PSI burst) More flow could be put through it, but there would be more pressure drop. The first part of the circuit takes charge pump flow and deadheads it at a check valve until the vehicle steers while moving and then it goes through the check valve to fill up the line between the front and rear wheel motor to keep the front wheel motor from pulling a vacuum. The wheel motors need to be plumbed in series. The 2nd part of the circuit is the high pressure drive circuit and has 2 valves in it to allow the vehicle to freewheel. One valve is a needle valve which would be used for pushing the vehicle when the engine is not running. The other valve would be used as a clutch and activated by a simple brake/clutch lever and cable. Those 2 valves do the same thing as each other, they are just activated differently. The 3rd part of the circuit combines the 2 case drain lines from the 2 wheel motors and the 1 from the pump and sends the oil through the filter before it goes back to the reservoir.

Our manifolds are manufactured out of high quality aluminum and get anodized after they are machined. All of the ports are SAE O-ring boss. No pipe thread! We also only use Genuine Hydra Force valves. Plumbing a motorcycle with individual components would cost a lot more money than using this manifold. This also cleans up the system nicely. This is a real good value for a custom engineered and tested component.
In order for this manifold to do what it was designed to do, the correct pump must be used. Several manufactures build pumps that would work well with this. The pump needed should be a variable displacement piston pump with a charge pump with access to take some of the charge pump flow to the manifold. The sharper the bike steers, the more oil would be taken from the charge pump. Some manufactures don’t put a port externally between the charge pump and the piston pump. Finding the wheel motors should be easier to find. Several manufactures make wheel motors with a brake mechanism on them and this style would be preferred. Since the 2 wheel motors get plumbed in series, the case drain ports should be used if the motors have them.
